The adventure begins with your choice of the PADI Open Water Diver DVD or interactive CD-ROM, then selecting the confined water / knowledge development course you wish to attend. You will prepare at home, completing the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter, five in all. Each knowledge development session will begin with a discussion of the knowledge reviews, followed by an academic presentation and, finally a standard quiz. A final written exam will be given the last day of class.

Because they are performance based, you get as much time as you need to practice your new skills before open water certification to make the transition to open water diving safe and simple.
